How it works

One small table, or the whole garden

We host anything from a dinner for a few people to a large family celebration. The menu is agreed in advance and you're welcome to bring your own cake.

Choosing a birthday venue in Istanbul

Most options in town are either a partitioned corner of a restaurant or an indoor function room. Both work, but with children the same problem appears: there's nowhere for them to go.

A venue with outdoor space solves that on its own. If the garden is closed to traffic, parents can stay at the table — for most of them, that's the whole difference.

At Casa Kilyos the garden is wide and closed to vehicles. The play area, lawn and woodland all run together, with clear sightlines from the tables.

Small gatherings and larger parties

For a handful of people we set a reserved table inside the restaurant or in a corner of the garden. At that size you can choose from the menu at the table.

Above about twenty we move to a seated arrangement in the garden and fix the menu in advance. It speeds up both the kitchen and the service noticeably.

Cake, decoration and set-up

You're welcome to bring your own cake. Tell us when booking and we'll be ready to serve it, with cold storage if it needs it.

If you'd like to decorate, we hand the space over early. Come a few hours ahead to set up and we'll agree a time.

There are hour limits on music in the garden, since we may have guests in the neighbouring bungalows — worth settling when you book.

Birthdays in winter

November and December are busy months for us. The garden is more pleasant in spring and autumn, but we host indoors through the winter.

The menu shifts with the season too: winter parties lean on the pickles and preserves put up over summer, and on what comes out of the oven.

Indoor capacity is more limited than the garden's, so for winter dates we'd ask for a little more notice.

Adding the courts, and staying over

If you'd like, we can build the padel or pickleball court into the programme. It works particularly well with teenagers in the group.

Guests travelling in can stay in the bungalows — six of them, breakfast included.

There's free parking on site, and for larger parties someone is on the gate to direct guests in.

About birthday parties

What size parties do you host?

Anything from a table for a few people to a large family gathering. Tell us your numbers and we'll find the right space.

Can we bring our own cake?

Yes. Mention it when booking and we'll be ready to serve it, with cold storage if needed.

Do you host in winter?

Yes. The garden is best in spring and autumn, but we host indoors through winter — November and December are among our busier months.

Can we decorate?

Of course. If you'd like to come earlier to set up, we'll agree a time and have the space ready for you.

How much notice do you need?

A few weeks is usually enough for smaller parties. For weekends and larger groups it's worth talking a little earlier.

Is there a play area for children?

Yes, there's a play area in the garden, and the garden is closed to vehicles.

Can we bring music?

Within set hours in the garden, yes. We may have guests in the neighbouring bungalows, so we settle it when you book.
